Exhaust flex pipe replacement in Sumy

The flex pipe absorbs engine vibration so it isn’t passed on to the exhaust system and the body. Over time it burns through or tears — the exhaust gets loud, something rattles, and sometimes you can smell exhaust fumes in the cabin. We cut out the damaged flex pipe and weld in a new one, repairing the adjacent pipes if needed. We quote the cost after inspection.

Frequently asked questions
Can I drive with a burnt-through flex pipe?
For a while, yes, but exhaust gases can get into the cabin and leaks upset the oxygen sensor readings. It is not worth putting off for long.
Why not just wrap the flex pipe?
A wrap doesn’t last long because the flex pipe moves constantly and gets very hot. Replacing it is more reliable.
Do I need to book?
It is better to — that way we can set aside a bay and time for the job.
